The Minneapolis Clean Energy Partnership represents a unique collaboration between the City of Minneapolis, Xcel Energy, and CenterPoint Energy in support of the City’s Climate Equity Plan. Through shared planning, governance, and accountability, the Partnership helps align city policies and utility programs in support of emissions reduction, affordability, and equity goals.

Get expert help identifying hidden energy savings in your home. Home Energy Squad visits include a professional assessment and free installation of energy-saving products. This service is available at no cost to Minneapolis residents and is offered jointly by Xcel Energy and CenterPoint Energy through the Partnership.

Utility Programs - satisfied utility customer

Utility Programs
Save energy and money through rebates, efficiency tools, and renewable energy options. Both utilities offer programs for residents and business—like appliance upgrades, EV charging support, weatherization materials and income-qualified services. Free energy efficiency kits and site visits are also available to qualifying customers.

Climate Legacy Initiative
The Climate Legacy Initiative (CLI) provides resources to Minneapolis residents and businesses to weatherize homes, reduce utility bills, promote green job training, and plant more trees. For instance, everyone is eligible for CLI programs like free Home Energy Squad visits and 0% financing for home energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
